Best Five Orthotics for Women who wear High Heel shoes

High Heels are synonymous with foot pain.  High Heeled shoe's help contribute to foot pain by shortening the Achilles tendon at the same time putting pressure on the forefoot.  High heels can contribute to problems such as bunions, hammer toes, even fungus toenails can be developed from wearing high heel shoes.  However, some women have to wear high heels everyday, whether it is for work, comfort or fashion.  Some women are going to wear high heels.  Below I have listed the five best orthotics for high heeled shoes, to help the person who chooses to wear the heels.  As a Podiatrist, I will state first the best way to take care of your pain is to stop wearing the high heeled shoes.  But here are a list of what I consider the five best orthotics to wear with high heel shoes.

Footminders catwalk orthotic arch support- These orthotics will provide a great deal of comfort to the person who wears these orthotics.  They have anti odor and breathable cover to keep the orthotic from smelling.  As well as adhesives on the orthotic to stop the insert from slipping in the high heels.  This would preferably be worn, by the woman suffering from forefoot or metatarsal pain in their high heels because it provides extra cushion in the area.

Kilofy Silicone Cushion insoles-  These are not so much orthotics as insoles.  These make no attempt as being functional and purely provide comfort to the forefoot area while wearing the high heels.  These will not correct your problem but may help make the discomfort more bearable.  Like the footminders would be best for those suffering from forefoot pain or the development of painful forefoot callouses.

Powerstep Slender Fit Fashion Orthotic Insoles- for motion control in a high heel orthotic this probably your best bet.  This has a discreet ultra slim design.  A unique S Shape with arch support as well as a deep heel cup.  One of the advantages of having the deep heel cup is better control during gait.  For the inexpensive price and the amount of control you get I would say this is my favorite orthotic for high heel shoes.

Dr Scholls Tri Comfort insoles-  These orthotics attempt to address both the heel and forefoot by providing adequate  gel cushioning for each area.  While, functional control maybe contributed to minimally, this orthotic is one of the more comfortable orthotics on the market for a person who enjoys high heels, but suffers from multiple issues associated with heel pain and forefoot pain.

Superfeet Orthotics for high heel shoes-  This orthotic is one of the few that helps with functional issues and biomechanical problems but still can be worn comfortably in a high heeled shoe.  It is expensive, so it may be recommended to try one of the more inexpensive brands listed above.  But, if you have tried everything and are desperate and looking for a solution this would be the orthotic to use.

I recently was introduced to this new product called footpetals, these are orthotics or insoles specifically designed for people with high heels, they are only available from Zappos but they feature an extremely low profile to fit in even the skinniest of high heels, they contain a Poron top cover similar to what Power Step provides.  Now they are not going to do much about excessive pronation but if you are looking for a high heel to decrease the amount of pain that you feel when walking consider this insole
